OFFENSE

The Heavener Wolves are looking to bounce back from a rough season a year ago. Head coach Micah Baker says that the athletes he has coming back this season have a lot of potential. “We have a really good group of young players,” Baker said. “I can see this group starting to have the kind of success that Heavener hasn’t seen in a while.” The running back tandem of PJ Ridley (5-7, 140, So.) and Jace Boehme (5-8, 145, So.) will work hard to be impactful this season, while Elijah Vaughn (6-1, 270, Sr.) will help open up holes for the backs to run through. Garrick Caldwell (6-2, 185, Sr.) will be back at tight end and work to pull in passes.

DEFENSE

Baker’s defense brings back seven starters from a year ago. He says that their plan is not difficult, just to disrupt the opponent’s plan. “We want to force teams to be one-dimensional,” he said. “We want to limit their ability to do what they want to do.” Dillon Moore (6-0, 165, Sr.), who will switch between defensive end and linebacker, will be one of those players that the Wolves will lean on this season. Also, defensive tackles David Moore (6-3, 185, So.) and Jacob Vickers (6-0, 245, So.) are ready to wreak havoc on the opponent’s offenses.
