Weleetka’s Kenneth Robertson, Jr. – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Mabrey Bank

High school student-athletes put in a lot of hard work to be successful. They work during the season and in the offseason and continually strive to grow their skills. Kenneth Robertson Jr. says that he works hard not just for himself and his teammates, but also for his school and the community.

“It takes a lot to be successful,” he said. “I have been committed to all the sports I play and always give 110 percent effort in all of them. One thing that really motivates me to work hard is having the ability to change the Weleetka tradition and be better.”

Robertson is a junior at Weleetka High School. He is a member of the school’s football, basketball, baseball, and golf teams. He is also a member of the Future Farmers of America organization.

As a multisport athlete, Kenneth says that while he has put in a lot of work, he has also had people around him that have helped him. They have helped him become the player and the person that he is today.

“My parents and coaches have been big role players in my life,” he said. “They have taught me a lot and have supported me in whatever I do. Another would have to be my teammate, Caden Farrow. We work hard together in practice and push each other to be our best. There are also some guys on our team that are somewhat underrated. The offensive and defensive lineman on our football team, and on most football teams, do a lot of hard work but do not get the credit.”

Throughout his career at Weleetka, Kenneth has had some memorable moments alongside his teammates. But he says that a personal accomplishment would have to be at the top of the list.

“I really enjoy being a part of the Outlaw nation,” he said. “The highlight for me so far would have to be earning the starting quarterback spot during my freshman year. It was a great feeling to know that my hard work paid off.”
