Keys Cougars Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Rylie Lynch Century 21 Real Estate

Coach: Kruz Lynch

21-22 Record: 21-6

With Sierra Winkler and Kylie Eubanks leading the way, the Lady Cougars of 2021 made it to the state tournament with a 21-6 mark. But those two leaders are now gone and there is also a new coach on the scene in Cruz Lynch. “They’ll be a lot of changes to our program this year. We return just one starter from our state tournament team and are working with a lot of young players with little varsity experience,” said Lynch. “This group is really working hard and buying-in to what we’re doing and by the time it’s said and done, this group will have more success than expected.”

The lone senior on the team and the only returning starter is Ashlyn Radomski who average 5.2 points and 2.7 rebounds a game last season. “Ashlyn has gone 38-9 over the last two years so she knows what winning is all about, and because of that experience I believe she is going to lead this team and have her best year yet,” said Lynch. Another hard worker and the kind of teammate every team needs is Erica Ward. “She does all the little things right,” said Lynch. “She comes to work every day with the right attitude and will give you everything she has while she’s on the floor. She is an athlete you want on your team.”

A couple of underclassmen will also be called on to grow up quickly this year for the Lady Cougars in Bailey Davis and Kinley Comer. “Bailey has been a key player for our JV the last two years and is taking a step in the right direction this year to break into the starting lineup. Kinley is a freshman guard who will compete for a starting spot as well. She brings a lot of length and energy to give us the spark we need, and she has the potential to be able to play at the next level if she keeps progressing,” said the new head coach.
