Preston Pirates Boys Basketball Preview – Presented By Excel Therapy

Boys

Coach: Chase Littlejohn

21-22 Record: 19-10

The Pirates set sail on a journey destined to find treasures with a veteran and talented roster of proven players as head coach Chase Littlejohn enters his third season at the helm. “We are a veteran team starting four seniors and one junior. We return four starters from last year’s team that was three points away from the state tournament. We hope our experience will help us make another deep playoff run.” Jervais Goree (5-9, Jr.) who enters his third season in the starting lineup is well within reach of cracking the 1,000 points mark in his career after averaging 16 points and 5.0 assists per game. “Jervais is an explosive scorer who can pick apart opponents with his passing ability to set up teammates for an easy finish,” said Littlejohn.

Another three-year starter Malachi Ligons (6-2, Sr.) is a difference maker on both ends of the floor using his length to his advantage. The experience of Tucker Webb (5-10, Sr.), Kareffren Bagby (6-1, Sr.) and Keyton Smith (6-2, Sr.) will be big help to Preston’s success. Littlejohn also expects added playmaking performances from Jayden Smith (6-3, So.) and Kaedyn Bagby (6-0, So.). The Pirates roster is deep as Gavon Walker (5-10, Sr.), Markel Holloway (6-0, Sr.), Cooper Ausbrooks (6-2, Sr.) and Brady Long (6-0, Sr.) enter their final campaign supported by energy filled underclassmen including Ethan Moore (6-2, So.), Hunter McElhannon (5-10, Fr.), Kent Rice (5-11, Fr.), Jermaine Bolden (6-1, Fr.), Kaden Dean (5-10, Fr.) and Phoenix Finch (6-1, Fr.).
