BOYS
Jordan Hill

21-22 Record: 7-15

Showing improvement and getting better every day. That’s the motto for the Hulbert Riders this season as they look to take a young group and improve on last year’s season. Senior forward Kris Glenn (6-2) is a go-to guy for the Riders. “He is the glue of our team. He’s a quiet guy but one that really works his tail off and we’re looking forward to seeing him perform this year,” said head coach Jordan Hill. Another engine of the Riders is Adam Hinkle (6-0, Jr.) who has great all-around skill. “He can score from anywhere, has a high basketball IQ, and plays good defense as well,” said Hill. Another junior that gained a lot of experience and brings a lot back to the Riders is Tyler Simpson (6-0, So.).

“Tyler did a great job stepping up as a freshman and carrying a lot of the weight for us last year. He always shows up and gives it his all,” said Hill. Forward Lucas Blackman (5-9) is the only other senior for the Riders whose experience and maturity will help the Riders in a lot of areas this year. Besides Hinkle, other juniors to watch for this year are Aidan Longan (6-4), Trevor Mullins (6-4), Nick Grim (6-0) and Jake Irizarry (5-10).

There are several underclassmen that will add needed depth and have a chance to gain some valuable playing time. Chief among those is Cody Botts (5-9, Fr.). “We’re expecting Cody to step into an important role for our team immediately this year. He had a good summer with us, and we saw his talent keep growing as the summer went on. He has been a leader already for our team and is a hard worker,” stated Hill. Other freshmen that will start earning their stripes this year will be Duke Parker (6-4), Kaiden Thompson (6-1) and Ethan Ellis (6-0). There are also several sophomores that look to make their mark this year in Tanner Vaughn (6-2), Ethan Thompson (6-0) and Landon Chester (6-0).
