Getting to know Tahlequah basketball player Brycen Smith – Presented by Bank of Cherokee County

VYPE: What are your goals for this season? 

Brycen: My goals for this season are to have fun and get better.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life? 

Brycen: Basketball has taught me that nothing is given and everything is earned.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Brycen: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Carnes in the 7th/8th grade from Woodall Public schools. She always made me feel welcomed and pushed me to be my best.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Brycen: My brother inspires me. He pushes me to be my best and he never lets me cut corners.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why? 

Brycen: The teammate that has left the best impression on me is Hayden Smith. He always shows up to practice ready to get to work and have fun doing it.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?  

Brycen: My favorite part about being on a team is the bond I get with my teammates.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you? 

Brycen: I would go to Pebble beach in California. I would take my family, Brayden Northington, and Mariah Larsen.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Brycen: I am passionate about my sport because I can always count on the sport to make me happy.

Brycen: Thank you Mom and Dad. For everything you do. Thank you Bub, Sis, Hay Hay, Wyatt, Lucy, Lincoln, Lux, Brayden, Aiden, Micah and Mariah. You all have made me who I am today. I love you all and am beyond thankful for you. Have fun up there Papaw!
