Hilldale’s Alexia Allison – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Monica Medley Century 21

By Scott Metz

As a junior at Hilldale High School, cheerleading is a big part of life for Alexia Allison. She cheers for both football and basketball.

Proficient in all aspects of cheerleading, Allison has been involved in the sport for many years. Alexia elaborated, “I have been cheering for Hilldale for 10 years and I’ve been on Hilldale varsity for three years.”

When asked what her favorite part of cheerleading is, Allison declared: “My favorite part is getting excited with the crowd when our team is doing good, and going to eat with my friends and teammates after a game.”

In regards to a favorite memory as a cheerleader, Allison explained, “My favorite memory would be going to camp and really getting to bond with some of the freshmen and rooming with my little.”

In regards to who Alexia looks up to the most, and who has influenced her the most, Allison stated, “I have always really looked up to both my grandmothers; they always drilled in my head that I will always be able to do anything I put my mind to. They basically taught me how to be an independent boss girl my whole life.”

For academics at Hilldale High School, there is one course that piques her interest in the classroom more than any other course. Allison explained, “I took zoology this year, and it really caught my attention more than I thought it would. I really like dissecting all kinds of different animals to learn more about their biology.”

Allison plans on pursuing higher education, after she has graduated from Hilldale High School.  She proclaimed, “I plan on going to college after high school for my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing).”

Outside the classroom, and off the sidelines, Allison still remains quite busy. “When I’m not cheering for Hilldale, I am on a competitive cheer team in Tulsa called Luxe Athletics,” she said.
