OFFENSE

There are a few changes taking place with the Weleetka football program and head coach Tristan Garringer is excited to see what it will mean for the team. “We have a good, young group of players and are looking to improve off of the last season,” said Garringer. “With only one senior being a returning starter, we have some younger players that are going to step up and play right away for us. Hall of Fame coach Tony Hawkins returns to lead the Weleetka football team with a definite list of expectations. “What we are looking for is to become one of the more physical teams in Class B and believe we have the players to do it.” Freshman Isaac Drake (6-1, 175) will split time at quarterback with J.R. Robertson (6-0, 180, So.). Both will also see time at running back. Trae Brown (5-9, 170, Jr.) will start in the backfield as well. The offensive line features Caden Farrow (6-0, 210, Jr.) at guard and Kolby Factor (6-3, 280, Jr.) at center. Tight end Emery Birdcreek (5-10, 210, Sr.) brings experience and leadership to the huddle.

DEFENSE

Drake will likely start at free safety where his speed and ability to cover comes into play. Robertson will start at linebacker with Brown giving the Outlaws two downhill players that pursue well and swarm to the ball. Birdcreek and Robert Hutchins (6-1, 190, Jr.) are bookend defensive ends coach Garringer is excited to see pressure the quarterback. Farrow will start at noseguard giving the Outlaws a run stopper in the middle. Look for the Outlaws to base in the standard 3-2 and work to get their linebackers free from would-be blockers.
