Morris Eagles – Boys basketball preview – Presented By Impact Rehab and Wellness

BOYS

Coach: Jerry Peaker

20-21 Record: 9-8

The lessons learned a year ago have created a foundation for success this season as the Eagles return their entire squad to the court. Four-year starter Jeremiah Jones (6-1, Sr.) who averaged 12.3 points and five-plus rebounds last year will lead the Eagles efforts capable of scoring at all three levels. Giorgio Dunn (5-8, So.) provides another boost to the scoring productivity with a high basketball IQ evidenced by his 12 points, 5.2 assists and 3.1 rebounds results as a freshman. Jaxsun Fulton (6-0, So.) who averaged 14.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists returns to the court expecting to build upon his contributions to the Eagles success. Ty Long (6-0, Sr.) whose three-point shooting produced 9.1 points per contest solidifies the perimeter scoring while Keegan Burgess (6-1, Sr.) gives coach Jerry Peaker’s lineup a consistent “do whatever it takes to win” effort. The Eagles depth is solid at all positions supported by the efforts of Cody Smith (6-0, Jr.), Tucker Kelsey (6-0, Jr.) Ryan Benavidez (6-2, Jr.) along with Kyle Richardson (6-1, Sr.) and Race Casey (5-10, So.). “We’re excited about this season. We believe this year could be special for the Morris Eagles,” said Peaker who enters his fourth season as head coach.
