In his first four meets this spring, Ty Bliss has been solid gold on the track oval. The 2022 senior at Gore High School has won the gold medal in 11 of 12 races and finished second in the other event. Bliss won three gold medals competing in the 3200m, 1600m and 800m run at the Miami, Chelsea and Wilburton track meets and claimed gold in the 3200m and 1600m at Heavener along with a second place finish in the 800m run.
Last year, Bliss won the Class 2A championship gold medal in the 3200m run along with a silver in the 1600m event and started this school year claiming the Class 2A cross country silver medal.
“Ty is an extremely hard working and self-motivated athlete that loves to compete on a daily basis, not only on the track but in the classroom as well. He is one of the hardest working kids that I have ever coached,” said head coach Brandon Tyler. “He has an attitude that no one will out work him and because of his hard work and dedication, Ty will be attending West Point in the fall.”
With accolades of academic achievement an added gold medal, Bliss owns a 4.24 weighted GPA and is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2022 at Gore High School.
