Tahlequah Volleyball Preview – Presented by Tommy Nix

Building for the Future

The Tahlequah volleyball program is experiencing some change as several players graduated leaving holes in the lineup coach Don Ogden is trying to fill.

Senior Emma Sherron returns as one of the setters and outside hitters for the Lady Tigers. Her play can set the tone for the team this season.

“We have a new team, we’re training hard and we’re ready to start playing,” said coach Ogden.

Tabor Gilbert (Sr.) will play outside hitter as well with Emily Morrison (Sr.) likely seeing time in the middle. Sadie Foster (Sr.) is a defensive specialist and McKayla Horn (Sr.) is another setter like Sherron. Also look for Ari Santana (Jr.) on the edge with Gracie Brewer (Jr.) in the middle and Annabelle McKenna (Sr.) as another outside.

Look for some underclassmen to step up this season and contribute as well.

With the season underway, the Lady Tigers have competed in the Coweta Invitational and are looking forward to matches with Collinsville, Will Rogers, Glenpool and close out the season at home on October 6th against McAlester.
