When pirate ships sailed the 18-century oceans, numerous cannons were used for destruction; each one hard to operate and requiring a team of men, led by a gunner who was very important in a chain of command on a ship. So it is for the Gore Pirates and two-way standout Gunner Dozier. The 6-1, 200-pound senior running back has exploded for 11 rushing touchdowns while totaling 613 yards on 41 carries leading Gore to a 4-0 start. Defensively Dozier brings muscle from his outside linebacker position once again in 2022 producing 12 tackles for loss plus a fumble recovery return for a touchdown. Entering A-8 district play, Dozier has amassed over 3,000 career-rushing yards as Gore has produced a 33-5 record to date with Dozier making plays on both sides of the game
