Oktaha Tigers Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Cross

Although the Lady Tigers have only one senior on the roster, don’t be fooled that the underclassmen have the basketball experience and game IQ to be a hard to beat team. After averaging 24 points per game a year ago, Ava Scott (5-10, G, Jr.), will lead the offensive production taking over a game scoring from any spot on the court as well as creating scoring chances for teammates with pinpoint passes while the lone senior, Bekah Bunch (5-10, F, Sr.) who added 12 points per game will deliver an inside or outside ability to score while adding toughness to the Lady Tigers defensive effort along with Ryleigh Bacon (5-11, F, Jr.) who secured 10 rebounds per contest.

Brynna Rodden (5-4, G, Jr.) and Gracie Harjo (5-5, G, Jr.) provide game time confidence and a work ethic committed to the difference making efforts that rarely show up in the scorebook. One player expected to make an immediate impact to the Lady Tigers results will be Mileigh Needham (5-8, F, Fr.) whose love for the game is only surpassed by her aggressive all-in style of play. Other players that will compete for varsity minutes include Cambree McCoy (5-5, G, Jr.), Faith Blackwell (5-10, F, Jr.), Khayden Kirkpatrick (5-7, G/F, So.), and Miley Holt (5-5, G, So.) as well as Hailey Van Brunt (5-7, G, Fr.), BrenLee Morgan (5-4, G, Fr.), Ella Roach (5-5, G, Fr.), Shianne Dill (5-6, G, Fr.) and Gabbi Davis (5-10, F, Fr.).

Head coach Kia Holmes enters her 15th season at Oktaha and is excited to watch her players compete. “You can say this is a young team and be right but when you watch them play, these girls compliment each other’s talents. Their ability to get up and down the court creates advantages for us,” said Holmes. “This group plays hard and are fun to watch compete.”
