The boys and girls swim teams at Muskogee High School have plenty to be excited about this season. Head coach Karen Bradley returns several key swimmers to the lineup for both teams.
Jack Gilliam (Jr.) will be the powerhouse swimmer in the 50 freestyle. Gilliam has posted a best of 26.60 and continues to work to improve on his time.
“Jack is a hard worker and has the desire to excel. He has a strong work ethic and is a positive leader on the team,” said coach Bradley.
Sabrina Meinershagen (Sr.) is a four-year member of the varsity swim team and someone coach Bradley loves having on the squad. Meinershagen will compete in the 200 freestyle where she has posted a time of 2:29.71.
“Sabrina is consistent and works hard at practice. She is a leader and gives guidance to the junior high team when needed. Sabrina is our team cheerleader and helps to create an energetic atmosphere,” said coach Bradley.
Sophomore Wyatt Stephens is one to watch in the 100 backstroke. Freshman Jacie Cumbey will sit this season out but plans to continue working in the pool to make a return next season.
Also look for Mallory Garner (Sr.) to compete in the 50 freestyle. Garner has a best time of 35.16.
