Hulbert Riders Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Workmans

GIRLS
Coach: Joseph McClure

21-22 Record: 7-17

Coach Joseph McClure starts his third year at Hulbert and feels this is a season the Lady Riders have been building towards. “This will be a season where the Lady Riders take a big step in the right directions. We have every player back from last year plus some talented freshmen joining the varsity squad. So we are expecting big things from this team. We have been building for this season and are ready to get it started,” said McClure. The focus of attention will be on Brea Lamb. “Brea was our team MVP last year. She led us in rebounding, was second in scoring and has a high basketball IQ. We need her to be a big presence inside for our team. She’s capable of averaging a double-double and we look forward to seeing her in action again,” said McClure. Another key member of the returning group is Alyssa Fair.

“She practices hard every day and has improved tremendously since her freshman year. She usually draws the toughest assignment on defense for us.” There are also a couple of freshmen that are expected to make immediate impacts for the Lady Riders in Taylor Forrest and Sadie Chambers. “Taylor is freshman forward who plays hard and is a good rebounder. Her work ethic is contagious, and she will only get better as the season goes along. Sadie is a guard with an elite skill set, a great work ethic and is super competitive. She will make our team that way from the moment she steps on the court,” said McClure.
