Stigler Panthers Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Dunn Ford Company

BOYS
Coach: Chris Parker

21-22 Record: 5-14

With the advantage of five returning starters returning, the Panthers outlook for success this season is building day by day.

Jamarion Warren (6-6, F/C, Sr.) averaged a double double the last third of the schedule last year and will be a key performer for head coach Chris Parker’s team in 2022-23.

Jayden Gould (6-5, F/C, Jr.) returns as the Panther’s leading point producer using his agility to knock down the open shot to average 12.5 points per contest.

Hunter Self (5-10, G/F), So.) earned a starter’s role after Christmas last year and end his freshman campaign averaging 11.5 per game also returns along with two key role players Will Rose (5-9, G, Sr.) and Hunter Peery (5-9, G, Jr.) that Parker defines as the players that do all the necessary things to win that don’t always show up in the statistics.

Cameron Eakle (5-9, G, So.) who saw plenty of time on the court as a freshman playing multiple positions will play a bigger role in Stigler’s game plan this year.

Already making an impact as a freshman this season is Jackson McCarter (5-6, G).

“He will help us with good guard play and depth at that position,” Parker said. “He can handle it, score it and pass it, and he will be a great addition for us.”

“We plan to continue to build upon the end of year success from the beginning this year,” said Parker, who enters his sixth season as the head coach. “All of the players have worked during the offseason to improve our scoring ability. Defense will always be our calling card.”
