VYPE: What are your goals for this season?
Aniyah: My goals for this season are to be one of the top rebounders in my conference.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Aniyah: This sport has taught me to always give 100 percent no matter the adversity I’m facing.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Aniyah: My favorite teacher is Catlin Smith from my 6th grade year at Sadler Arts Academy. She’s my favorite because when I was having a hard time mentally, and she helped me stay focused and on top of my work.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Aniyah: My inspiration is my dad. He passed away on Sept. 7, 2021. Since then, I’ve been working really hard and staying on track with everything.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Aniyah: Bianca McVay has left the biggest impression on me. She always works hard, always brings energy to practice, and she motivates us to do our best everyday.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Aniyah: My favorite part of being on a team is the connections and relationships you grow with your teammates and coaches. The bonds you grow with them can help you in life.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Aniyah: For a summer vacation I’d go to Florida and go to the beach with my sister.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Aniyah: I’m passionate about my sport because I want to help my mom and siblings have a better life and I want to go to a good school for basketball.
