Okay’s Chase Clark – Athlete of the Month – Presented by York Street Tire

While coming off the bench as the “6th Man” for Okay, Chase Clark, a 6-foot freshman guard, consistently delivered with “game-changer” results as the Mustangs raced to a perfect 9-0 start entering 2023 and ranked among the top five in Class A boys’ basketball.

With an uptempo style of play, Clark creates added quickness to the pace of the game with his ball handling abilities as well as his ability to attack off the dribble and finish at the rim. The son of head coach Chad Clark, he brings a high basketball IQ to the court. Through the first nine games of the season, Clark has averaged 17 points per game and contributed five rebounds, along with 3.1 assists and two-plus steals per game.

In the finals of the Preston Tournament in December, Clark delivered 22 points in the Mustangs’ 44-36 championship win over the Pirates, the host school.

“It’s not about whether I’m a starter, but it’s all about our team getting the win. Whatever it takes, I’m all in,” said Clark. “We’ve got a lot of guys that can score and play defense and I just try to do what I can to make sure we come out on top.”

Off the court, Clark is on top of his game in the classroom maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
