Hilldale’s Addy Wolfe-Athlete Spotlight- Presented By Northeastern State University

With four seasons under her belt as a student athlete, Addy Wolfe is ready to tell her story…there’s something for everyone at Northeastern State University.

“You really can achieve your dreams at NSU,” said Wolfe, now in the middle of her junior season with the RiverHawks softball team. “It’s a family-oriented university – in class and all across campus – where you always feel at home.”

The “at home” environment is something that Addy put at the top of her list of needs when choosing where to play college softball after graduating from Hilldale High School in 2019.

“I’m definitely a home body. Playing here has allowed me to have my fan base, family, and friends at our home games,” the RiverHawks third baseman said with a smile.

On top of her game-winning productivity on the softball diamond, Wolfe also takes care of her assignments while majoring in Health and Human Performance on the basepaths toward a future as a physical therapist. Her stats in the classroom are of All-Star performance stature as evidenced by earning membership on the MIAA honor role lineup.

“My instructors are part of my fan base too. In so many classes, my instructors have always come to the rescue where, just like in sports, two-way communication has been the key,” Wolfe emphasized. “The 1-on-1 relationships created during my in-person and online classes have squashed any challenge. It’s awesome.”

As a player, Addy has one more reason she’s glad she chose NSU.

“Playing under the lights this year is surreal. My teammates and I are so thankful to athletic director John Sizemore and NSU athletics for this opportunity,” said Wolfe. “Its created an even greater home field advantage with our fans. I really like the way the other athletic teams and organizations support each other in our pursuit of victory. Game Day is like nothing else.”

So why choose NSU? Addy Wolfe is straight to the point with her response.

“Just like our softball team is locked arm-and-arm supporting each other no matter the score, so is everyone all across campus. All you have to do is look around, there’s family and friends ready and willing to help you find success.”
