VYPE: What did you do this past off-season to get ready for this year?
Bailey Davis: Well, I play softball too, so during my “off-season,” I stay busy to stay in shape.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?
BD: My favorite memory is continuing to scare Hammy throughout the season. She gets scared every time.
VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?
BD: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Bronsert. She’s just always so sweet and kind and never has a bad day.
VYPE: Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they impact you as a player?
BD: My favorite coach has been Coach Lynch; last year was his first year being my coach and I can tell a huge difference in the way I play and how I see the game because of him.
VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?
BD: We’re always looking forward to Sequoyah; they’re always a rival but this year, we’re ready.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
BD: Basketball has taught me how to be mentally and physically strong. No one cares like you, so you have to continue to get up through adversity and work hard.
VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?
BD: All my teammates support me, and I try my best to support all of them. I admire the heart they all have, to be so young and want to step up for me and my other upperclassmen.
VYPE: What are your plans after high school?My plans are to finish college and be a coach, so I can continue to rodeo in the summer.
VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season (individual or team goals)?
BD: I hope to be in a good seat in the Area Tournament and prove some people wrong.
