Tahlequah’s Ethan Sisk – Presented by Tommy Nix Auto Group

A senior at Tahlequah High School, Ethan Sisk is driven to constantly strive for improvement in tennis. With each swing of the racket, Ethan embodies the spirit of competition, driven by the simple yet profound goal of “doing better each point.” Inspired by tennis legend Roger Federer, Ethan admires him for his tenacity and grit. “I have always been amazed by his ability to fly across the court and make shots that no one thought was possible.”

Ethan’s journey on the court is not only marked by personal growth but also by deep gratitude towards those who have supported him along the way. Acknowledging his teacher’s impact, Ethan expresses gratitude towards his AP Statistics teacher, Chuck Pack: “He has helped me many times in and out of the classroom. He is always there if I need him.”

Reflecting on his journey in tennis, Ethan acknowledges the rigorous dedication required to be successful. “It has required many hours of practice with the team and on my own.” His commitment has yielded significant achievements, including placing third at regionals and qualifying for state competition—an accomplishment Ethan cherishes deeply. In the heat of competition, Ethan finds satisfaction in facing Pryor’s One doubles: “Our matches are always close.”

Within his team dynamic, Ethan values his partnership with Brock Young. “He and I have played doubles for five years. We work well together and push each other to be better.” Recognizing the talent of his peers, Ethan highlights Laith Younes as an underrated player on the team. “He is a solid player and competes well.”

Beyond the court, Ethan is actively involved in extracurricular activities, including National Honor Society, Tahlequah Minds Matter, Jazz Choir, and the yearbook crew. Looking ahead, Ethan plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in mathematics at Northeastern State University. As he represents Tahlequah High School in tennis, Ethan takes pride in being a Tahlequah Tiger. “It is an honor to be able to represent my school and town when I compete. I am proud to be a Tahlequah Tiger.”
