Stigler’s KyLee Lovell – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Dunn Ford Company

KyLee Lovell, a versatile junior athlete from Stigler High School, excels in softball and basketball. She is the definition of a utility player. In her own words, she has played “every position,” on the field and court.

When asked about her motivation, KyLee credits her mother her teammates. “My mom and my girls; they keep me positive.” Reflecting on her journey, she acknowledges her aunt and uncle’s unwavering support. “My role models are my aunt Sissy and uncle Bubba; they have put so much effort into me being a good ball player.” KyLee also pays tribute to her mother, sharing, “My mother has pushed me to be the best and do the best I possibly can.”

During challenging times, she found support in her coaches. “Coach Joye Oldham and coach Moody Smith were there for me through it all, even when my stepdad passed away and throughout my knee injury.” KyLee emphasizes the importance of practice and persistence, noting, “It has taken a lot of practice and pushing myself through the times I wanted to give up.”

A standout moment in KyLee’s career was when her team triumphed over Eufaula, the top seed, despite being the bottom seed, a victory that remains a cherished memory for her. She finds particular satisfaction in defeating Spiro, mentioning, “The opponent I enjoy beating the most is Spiro, just to prove to one person I am what they said I’d never be.”

Looking ahead, KyLee is not only involved in sports at high school but also a member of HOSA at Kiamichi Technology Center. She aspires to attend the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith to pursue a degree in nursing and build a career in the medical field. Joining the Stigler team has special significance for KyLee, as she values the supportive community, highlighting, “As a new member of the Stigler team, it means a lot to play for a town and community that cares for every one of the athletes, with no negative energy, and where everyone supports each other.”
