Maddox Bridges

EUFAULA IRONHEADS

BOYS

Coach: Rob McKinzie

22-23 Record: 8-14

The winds of change have the Ironheads eager to tipoff this season as after six straight seasons with double digit win campaigns, Eufaula seeks to rebound last season’s 8-win campaign. Two new faces will be easy to see as former UCO men’s assistant Rob McKinzie takes the reins and welcomes the return of Maddox Bridges (6-0, Jr.) to wear the maroon and white after producing multiple 30-point outings as a sophomore while playing at Checotah to earn 1st team All-Conference honors. “Maddox can fill it up from the 3-point area as well as get to the rim. I’m expecting him to flourish in our uptempo style of play,” said McKinzie.

Part-time starters Jentry James (5-9, So.) and Keaton Parish (6-0, So.) who also can consistently hit from beyond the 3-point line will solidify the backcourt with expected double-digit scoring. “Jentry and Keaton gained invaluable game-time experience last season as freshmen that will pay big dividends in their confidence and on-ball skills this year,” explained the first year Eufaula head coach. Landon Mills (6-4, Sr.) joins forces with Ironhead “bigs” Draven Gragg (6-5, Sr.), Jaxon Lange (6-4, Sr.), Carson Luna (6-2, Jr.) and Dacen Hunter (6-2, Jr.). “The front line play will be a must and will help to open up the perimeter,” explained McKinzie. “Landon will anchor the front line on both ends of the floor because of his size. “He’s also shown the court awareness with his passing skills to earn assists in setting up his teammates for scoring opportunities. McKenzie’s running style lineup includes bench depth with Dusty Eby (5-10, Jr.), Dresden Chiles (5-8, Jr.), Jace Davis (5-8, Jr.) and Ty Parks (5-7, So.), a move-in from Warner joined by Brendin Delaney (6-1, Jr.) and Cameron Jones (5-9, So.). “We’re still putting all the pieces together,” McKenzie pointed out while acknowledging the success of Eufaula football.
