IRONHEADS ROYALTY

Eufaula basketball celebrated Homecoming 2023 with the coronation of Jordas McLish as Queen and Riley Morgan as King. McLish is a three-year starter on the girls’ basketball team and plans to become a physical therapist. Morgan has been a three-year member of the boys’ basketball team and the varsity golf team four years.

Joining the royal court was senior attendant Kambry Williams, who was escorted by Jacob Parish, and the junior attendant, Avery Williams, was escorted by Landon Mills, while sophomore attendant Kate Pippenger was escorted by Talon Weaver. The freshman attendant Bayli Martin was escorted by Keaton Parish.  This year’s flower girl was Ella Rae Morgan, and Sawyer Downum was the crown bearer.

IRONHEAD HERO – ALL-STAR BY CLASS

Eufaula senior Luke Adcock, who helped to guide the Ironheads to a fifth consecutive district title last fall, has been named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association’s Class 2A All-Star by Class squad.

During his senior season, Adcock completed 116 of 203 pass attempts for 1,973 yards, including 26 touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 992 yards and scoring 15 times. For his career, Adcock set a new school record for passing and touchdowns, totaling 6,038 yards and 67 touchdown passes, while completing 60 percent of his attempts. Altogether, he accounted for 8,015 yards total offense.

E-TOWN BAND EARNS HONORS

In tune and in step, 28 members of the Pride of Eufaula were recently named to the Eastern Oklahoma Band Director’s Honor Band.

The E-town band continues its quest to attain the school’s 22nd OSSAA Sweepstakes award. After picking up the superior rating during the regional marching contest in October, the talented musicians will compete in the District Concert Band contest in March with expectations to earn superior ratings, and then complete the quest with a superior rating at the OSSAA State Concert Band contest, needing top scores on stage and in sight reading. Rusty Helms is director of bands at Eufaula.
