GORE PIRATES

Coach: MIKE RANDOLPH

OUTLOOK

Gore will be led by four-year starter Cadi Shoemake and its three other seniors under the direction of head coach Mike Randolph in 2023. The Pirates will be an experienced unit as they also welcome back a cast of seven starters. “We have four seniors leading the way this year. We have seven returning starters that provide us with a lot of experience in the field and at the plate,” Randolph said. “We lost our senior pitcher from last year, but we are expecting big things from our underclassmen pitchers. We have a sophomore and a freshman that will be pitching a lot of innings this year. We are planning to come out ready to play this season.” Shoemake will provide leadership in the infield at third base. “She is a great defensive player at third base, has a strong arm, and is a solid hitter,” Randolph said.

She provides experience and leadership for our team. She will play a huge role this upcoming season on offense. Her bat and speed provide the ability for her to have great success getting on base.” Sophomore Emily Daily is back as a middle infielder who has a lot of speed. “Emily is a leader on and off the field,” Randolph said. “She swings the bat well and has a lot of speed. She will play a key role for our defense this upcoming season and in the future.” Junior Kendra Huckbay will also be counted on. “Kendra is a great leader in academics and tries to always do the right thing,” Randolph said. “She is an active member in her church and school activities. She provides a positive influence for not just our team but our school. On the field, she is a hard worker and is encouraging to her teammates.” Seniors joining Shoemake on the roster are infielders Natalie Casteel and Paige Curran, and outfielder Kynley Webb. Joining Huckbay as a returning junior is outfielder Peyton Curran. Other sophomores who will play roles are infielder/outfielders Kennedy Williams and Cheyenne Davidson, and outfielders Adrian Summerlin and Kinsley Brooks. Freshmen on the roster include outfielders Peyton Garrison, Keira Rowe and Victoria Scott, and infielder/outfielders River Shoemake, Sophie O’Connor, Alison Briley and Mckenzie Kellog.
