CASH SCHILLER
Hilldale High School
Winning a powerlifting championship requires more that just brute strength. The combination of a dedicated training regiment and positive mental approach helped to empower Cash Schiller to capture the gold medal in the 242-pound division of the Oklahoma Powerlifting Coaches Association state championships. Competing in the large school division, the Hilldale junior combined a three-lift total of 1545 pounds to secure the gold medal. Standing 5-foot-9, Schiller muscled up 350 pounds in the bench press, 595 pounds in the deadlift competition in addition to completing a squat lift of 600 pounds.
The gold medal is the third for Schiller having won the title as a seventh and eighth grader before finishing as a state runner-up as a freshman and sophomore.
“His work ethic makes Cash a champion,” said Hilldale powerlifting coach Josh McMillan. “His commitment to being the best is evident in whatever he does.”
Schiller is also a member of the Hornets football team where he starts at offensive guard as well as uses his leg strength as the team’s kicking specialist where Schiller has already hammered home a 53-yard field goal.
Another example of his mental toughness, Schiller also excels in the classroom posting a 4.32 GPA.
