Hilldale’s Chloe Walker – “Talk of the Tailgate” presented by Taco Bueno

Whether she’s on the football sidelines Friday nights screaming words of encouragement for the Hilldale Hornets, in a school day pep rally or in the community, Chloe Walker is all in when it comes to creating school spirit.

“School spirit is getting people involved and having not only the school but also the community come together and support our teams. The more support means more spirit leading to hopefully a good game for all of our teams,” Walker said enthusiastically. “I try and be involved in the student section to find ways the cheer team can be involved in chants and themes corresponding with the student section.”

Chloe’s efforts as a senior at Hilldale allow her to be a game changer, as a cheerleader as well as in everyday life, a character trait she’s developed thanks to the influence of her mom.

“Mom has definitely inspired me to be who I am today. No matter whether it’s a life altering moment or not, a game changer must be willing to adapt to change. Coaches and players do it in every game,” said Walker, an officer in the National Honor Society as well as a member of NIKE, FCCLA and Spanish Club. “That requires hard work and dedication and the willingness to always put the needs of your team or others before you own desires.”

According to Tawnda Warford, the non-stop energy and dedication result in Walker being effective as a selfless leader that’s totally dedicated to her team.

“Chloe is determined, passionate, caring, strong, athletic and has good morals,” explained the Hilldale cheer coach. “She leads by example in every area. She’s highly organized and cares more for others than herself.”

Making use of the Tik Tok and Snapchat apps on her phone, Chloe remains in the talk of the tailgate by keeping constant contact with the other cheerleaders as well as other students at Hilldale.

“Loyalty is something that’s very important to me. I try to let others see by my actions that I care and that I’ll be there,” claimed the 2023 senior. “I put a lot of thought into the things I do, creating a bond with the girls on the team to create a safe place for them.”

With future thoughts of becoming an ultrasound technician or an elementary school teacher, Chloe Walker strives to leave a footprint for others to follow her example.

“I hope that others will remember me as their friend, a person who was kind to everyone.”
