Experience under fire will be a plus for the Lady Mustangs who return five players who posted 10-plus point per gamestatistics along with a supporting cast of young and talented players to complete rotation of their lineup in 2023-24.
VYPE Top 100 nominee Alex Collins (5-11, Jr.) made the most of her playing time by contributing double-double numbers by posting 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. “Alex is an unbelievable athletes who creates success in whatever she does,” said head coach Levi Phillips. “She plays with heart and a competitive spirit that pushes her teammates the best they can be.” Described by Phillips as a fierce and athletic competitor, Teagan James (5-9, So.) who created headline results as a freshman by averaging 14 points per contest returns to join three incoming freshmen who averaged double digits last year on the younger circuit including Evie Spangler (5-9, Fr.), Zoey Fulton (5-8, Fr.) and Jayden Berry (5-9, Fr.). The Mustangs expect to get a power presence in the paint from the play of forward Alyssa Perkins (5-11, Jr.) who contributed 8.5 points per game last season as well as from Addie Randall (5-9, Fr.), Mylee Hill (5-8, Jr.) and Jayden Brunson (5-8, Sr.). “This should be a breakout season for us,” said Phillips. “The addition of the young talented player with our seasoned veterans should be a recipe for success. This group of girls is hungry for success and willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish victory.”
