Oktaha’s Maddox Edwards – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by York Street Tire

MADDOX EDWARDS

Oktaha High School

Known as the “go-to-guy” on the Tigers baseball roster, Maddox Edwards continues to lead the way both on the baseball field and in the classroom at Oktaha High School.  The 2024 senior has been a game changer again this spring no matter if he’s on the mound or playing shortstop as well as using his bat to get on base.  Through the first 19 games this season, Maddox has produced a .462 batting average and .603 on-base percentage at the plate while totaling 18 runs batted in for Oktaha, who currently ranks number-1 in Class 2A baseball.  In 22 innings on the mound, Edwards has recorded 25 strikeouts of opposing hitters as Oktaha has notched a 17-2 to the spring season.

A champion in the classroom, Edwards has earned a 4.35 GPA including completing assignments in concurrent college enrollment.

“Maddox is a coach’s dream. His work ethic in everything he does inspires everyone else around him to become a better player,” said head coach Kevin Rodden. “He’s been a starter in six seasons (fall & spring). The way he goes about his business in everything he does creates an example of leadership by example.”

Following graduation, Edwards will continue to play baseball on the collegiate level at Connors State College.
