Porum Panthers Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Cross

Coach: Bobbie Wheat

21-22 Record: 15-2

After a great 15-2 record a season ago the Porum Lady Panthers return all but one player and have a solid class of incoming freshmen. “We will have some different looks this year,” head coach Bobbie Wheat said. “Depending on who we play and what players are on the floor.” Courtney Pease (5-6, Jr.) is a VYPE Top 100 nominee and averaged 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals a year ago. Pease is extremely quick, a good ball handler, and sees the floor well. She always makes the right play and is a very unselfish player. Pease is great at pushing the ball up the floor and likes to play fast and often forces turnovers to create transition opportunities. She is a team leader and looks to have another solid year this season.

Three freshmen Addison Dishman, Leia Johnson, and Mesa Coulston have impressed coaches in preseason workouts and the trio are expected to get significant playing time this season. The future is bright for this trio and they will make an immediate impact in Porum. Gracie Tiger (5-6, Sr.) is a great post player and is always encouraging younger players. Tiger always does whatever is needed to help the Lady Panthers be successful and is great at blocking out for rebounds.

Cierra Mann (Fr.) might have the best personality on the team and keeps everyone motivated in the locker room and in practices. While only a freshman she has already made an impact in Porum.

Other players to look for include: RiLee Miller (5-5, Sr.), Emma Murray (5-11, Sr.), Kylie Smith (5-8, Jr.), Cameron Terrell (5-7, Jr.), Courtney Pease (5-6, Jr.), Kolby Pevehouse (5-7, Jr.), Zoe Davis (Jr.), Jaelyn Smith (Fr.), Jaimie Purdom (Fr.), Camryn Mann (Fr.), and Karmyn Terrell (Fr.).
