COURTNEY PEASE
Porum High School
A four-year starter for the Lady Panthers, Courtney Pease continues to race past opposing defenders to lead Porum to a perfect 12-0 start this season. While earning All-Tournament honors, the 5-4 shooting guard averaged 26 points per contest in three games including a 27-point effort in the championship finals as Porum captured the championship of the Graham-Dustin tournament. On the year, Pease leads the scoring totals averaging 15.9 points while distributing 2-plus assists for head coach Bobbie Wheat’s lineup.
“Because of her quickness and court vision, Courtney is equally as good of a defender,” said Wheat, currently in her 19thyear as head coach at Porum. “If you try to cross-over against her, she’ll pick your pocket and race to the rim to score. She’s averaging 4.5 steals per game.”
Last spring, Pease was a state qualifier in both the 100 and 200-meter sprints, earning a medal in the 200m dash.
In addition to her prowess on the basketball court, Pease is a top performer in the classroom as a straight-A student that hopes to pursue a career in the medical field.
