9 Q’s with Eufaula’s Allie Anderson

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?

Allie Anderson: I have so many favorite memories. I think my favorite team memory would be beating Roland by a buzzer beater in the Regional Finals.

VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?

Allie: I admire Kambry Williams and Jordas McClish. We have been through everything together. The teammate that I think supports me the most is Maddie Ballard; no matter what it is, she supports me in everything.

VYPE: What preparation have you taken this off-season to better equip yourself for the upcoming season?

Allie: To get ready for this upcoming season, I have spent many hours in the gym shooting and working on my ball handling.

VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season (individual or team goals)?

Allie: My biggest team goal is making it to the State Tournament. All the Lady Ironheads are working towards that goal.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Allie: Basketball has taught me to never take anything for granted. Ever since tearing my ACL my sophomore season, I have learned to never take it for granted because it can be taken away from you so quickly.

VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?

Allie: My favorite teacher would be, Amber Graham. She is always so positive and cheers me on every day.

VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?

Allie: I think I’m most excited to play Checotah. They’re our rivals and it’s always such a good game. The stands are packed, student sections are hype, and it’s just an awesome match up.

VYPE: Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they impact you as a player?

Allie: I don’t have a favorite coach. I love coach Yarbrough. He has formed me into the player I am today but the coach that impacted my life the most would be my middle school coach, Dane Yandell. Coach Yandell didn’t just get me through some of the hardest times of my life but helped me find God and get saved.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

Allie: After high school, I plan on playing college basketball at a school close to home.
