Q’s with Stigler’s Jordan Johnson

VYPE: Who has been your favorite coach throughout your career and how did they impact you as a player?

Jordan Johnson:My favorite coach has been Coach Tyler Guthrie. He has had a big impact on not just my sports career but my life too. He’s been there for me and always has told me to have confidence and play to my ability.

VYPE: Did you have any teammates that you admire or that supported you?

JJ: When I was a freshman, I had a senior, Laynie Fitzer, that really supported me and is there for me even now. The teammates I have now that support me are Madi Jones and Hiahni Howard. They push me to be the best player and best person I can be.

VYPE: Who was your favorite teacher and how were they influential in your life?

JJ: My favorite teacher is Mrs. Parsons. She’s a great teacher and person. She shows up for all the school activities we have and she’s always there supporting us and giving us love. She’s a great listener and one of my biggest role models.

VYPE: What preparation have you taken this off-season to better equip yourself for the upcoming season?

JJ: With softball ending and jumping right into basketball, we can’t really do a whole lot to prepare ourselves. The only thing we can do is get in the gym as much as possible and give our all at every practice.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

JJ: Basketball has taught me to give it your best no matter the outcome. You can’t know or predict the outcome, so you have to give your best at all times.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory in your sport?

JJ: There’s always so much good memories when it comes to sports. My favorite one for basketball is just getting to play with some of my best friends.

VYPE: What do you hope to accomplish this season?

JJ: I hope for us as a team to make it farther in playoffs than we did last year.

VYPE: What matchup are you most looking forward to this season?

JJ: The matchup I’m looking forward to this season is Roland. I think as a team we’re all ready for another game with them.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

JJ: I’m not quite sure yet.
