Stigler’s Gracie Fenton – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Stigler Milling Co. LLC

When you’re in a family like the Fenton’s being a member of the FFA is just part of growing up. For Gracie Fenton, FFA is just a way of life.

Senior class president at Stigler High School, Fenton is a member of the varsity cheer squad and part of the speech and drama teams. The senior keeps a busy schedule, but that does not prevent her from enjoying all of the things FFA has to offer.

“My entire family has always been heavily involved in FFA. I knew I wanted to be the same way. Mr. Dawson played a huge role in getting me more and more involved as time went on. Something I enjoy most about being in FFA is getting a first-row seat in seeing how the organization builds a network of people, and how it builds great qualities within those people,” said Fenton.

Fenton loves to have heifers and compete in the Ag Communications contests. She said anyone looking to join FFA should just do it.

“To anyone considering joining FFA, just do it. There is a world of opportunities at your fingertips. FFA is not just a class for “country” kids. It has so much more to offer,” said Fenton.

Thanks to her parent’s influence, Fenton said they instilled a good work ethic, and she is excited to leave high school and attend college in the fall.

“My parents have definitely had the biggest influence on me. They have taught me and my siblings the importance of a good work ethic. I have just finished my senior year and graduated almost two weeks ago. I am going to be attending Oklahoma State University in the fall to major in psychology. I plan to become a clinical psychologist,” said Fenton.

As a member of the cheer squad, Fenton said she loved every aspect of being part of the team and her teammates.

“The thing I love most about being in the cheer program is being able to play such a huge role in the school’s spirit. It is honestly such a blessing to be a part of. I love how every girl on the team has a different personality and brings their own set of skills. We get along so well which is usually surprising to some people, but we spend so many hours together that we’ve grown to love each other,” said Fenton.
