Stigler’s Lucki Greenwood – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Shearwood Chiropractic-King and Shearwood Funeral Home

Stigler High School junior Lucki Greenwood has enjoyed a busy school year. Not only is she a member of FFA, but she is also active in the yearbook and student council.
“My brother was in FFA and always told me how much fun it was,” said Lucki. “I also have been raised on a ranch my whole life and have always lived the farm life.”
A country girl at heart, Lucki recently learned that she is the recipient of the Washington Leadership Conference Scholarship. The WLC is an opportunity for FFA members to put leadership back into action, in person.
“Being a recipient, I will get to go to Washington DC in June for a week,” she said. “I am excited about meeting FFA members from all around the US and learning about the United States.”

Lucki’s hard work draws praise from her coach, Cody Dawson, the Stigler FFA advisor.

“She is a hard working and talented young lady. Lucki is a positive face for the younger members and is involved in all aspects of our program.”
One thing that Lucki likes most about FFA is the opportunity it gives her to meet new people and make new friends. Despite not showing animals, Lucki said she highly recommends FFA to anyone who is interested in the opportunities the program has to offer.
“I believe everyone should be FFA. Just the leadership skills that you learn alone are a reason to join,” she said.

Dawson seconds the motion made by Lucki.

“I have hauled all over and can say without a doubt Lucki has never met a stranger and seems to always make each trip fun and humorous.”
In addition to being awarded the WLC Scholarship, Lucki won first in State with her proficiency in 2022 and is currently the 2022-2023 chapter vice-president.

Although Lucki’s brother inspired her to join FFA, the person that she admires most is her father.

“He has raised me and my brother both as a single parent and has stepped up and taken care of us both after both of our mothers passed,” she said.

Lucki plans to attend OSU-IT after graduation and earn an associate degree in nursing. After that, she will continue her education at a university and become a labor and delivery nurse.
