Muskogee football players Brandon Tolbert, Terryn Miles and Deshawn Smith make their college decisions – Presented by Tommy Nix of Muskogee

Muskogee running back Brandon Tolbert, cornerback Terryn Miles and linebacker Deshawn Smith each signed the dotted line Wednesday on National Signing Day.

Miles and Smith both inked with Langston University, while Tolbert signed with the University of Central Oklahoma.

Tolbert, who also held an offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State and was an Oklahoma Coaches Association Class 6A East All-Star selection, finished his senior campaign with 545 rushing yards, averaging 7.9 yards per carry. He had four touchdowns and added 14 catches for 335 yards and three TDs. Tolbert also had a team-high 129 total tackles and 16 tackles for losses as a linebacker.

Miles played a crucial role in a secondary that produced 15 interceptions and 18 pass breakups.

Smith was one of three Roughers to finish 2022 with over 100 total tackles, closing with 112. He recorded eight tackles for losses, two quarterback sacks, two hurries, one interception and one fumble recovery.

Muskogee will hold a signing ceremony for the trio at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 at the Muskogee High School indoor practice facility (J-Unit).

The Roughers finished 2022 with a 10-2 mark under head coach Travis Hill. They went 6-1 in District 6A-II-1 and advanced to the 6A-II semifinals.
