Wagoner’s Kendra Condict – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Kevin Grover Buick -GMC

Her last name is well known, especially in Wagoner.

And now Kendra Condict, the youngest member of the house is making her first name a symbol of success.

As a sophomore this past school year, awards followed Kendra’s efforts in sports as well as in the classroom. Last fall, Kendra was the ace of the circle as the Wagoner pitcher in fastpitch softball. This spring, she continued to display her talents on the tennis courts. Teamed again with Ayda Harris, the pair qualified for the Class 4A state tennis tournament for the second year in a row moving up to #1 doubles this spring.

In the classroom, Kendra’s competitive spirit is equally as sharp earning the Honors English II award, AP Environmental Science Award and Spanish II honors along with membership in the National Honor Society and STUCO leadership recognition after two years of service.

As her sophomore year ended, Kendra was named the recipient of the Vernon Yates Award that honors the top performer in each class at Wagoner High School for outstanding academic and athletics excellence.

What is the secret to her success?

“Without a doubt, I have to credit the influence of my mom and dad (Sherry & Dale). They’ve instilled in me the importance of having a strong work ethic,” said the 16-year old. “No matter the situation, in sports and the classroom, never give up and do the best I can in everything I do.”

Ranked at the top of her class with a weighted 4.28 grade point average, Kendra’s optimistic approach was evident when asked for a self-definition.

“Hard working, outgoing and most of all kind,” she said. “I strive to be good all around, in sports and academics but caring for the needs of others ranks at the top of my desires.”

With her resume already filled with achievement and success and the energy filled work ethic determined to embrace and conquer every challenge, Kendra Condict is ready to take her talents to even higher levels while she stands ready to lend a helping hand to everyone along the way.
