Warner Cheer Spotlight Presented by CROSS

By Payton Moody

The Warner Eagles Cheer Squad is soaring to new heights this season with unwavering enthusiasm and dedication. We caught up with Coach Corrie Nichols to get an inside look at the team’s standout leaders, development, and their goals for the upcoming seasons.

According to Nichols, Karaline Hart, a senior captain, has emerged as a standout leader for the squad. “Karaline Hart, a senior captain, has really stepped up this year as a leader and role model to the team,” she said. “She puts her whole heart into everything she does, always having a positive attitude, willingness to help and get the job done.”

This season, the Eagles Cheer Team has focused on building strong bonds among team members. “We have really bonded as a team this year,” Nichols said. “In years past, we have had our fair share of cliques amongst the squad. We wanted to eliminate that divide, and I believe team bonding has helped in that area. We all come to work together and accomplish our tasks as a team and family.”

The primary goal for the Eagles Cheer Squad is to make their community proud. “Our goal is to make our teams and community proud to be a Warner Eagle and enjoy their time watching the games.”

While the cheerleaders eagerly support their teams in all games, they are especially thrilled about home games. “We are really excited for all of our home games; that crowd is just a different vibe,” Nichols said. “The other teams are on our turf, and our fans want them to hear them across the field and court. We are all hyped up and most comfortable at home games!”

The cheerleading program has seen enhancements since the last season. According to Nichols, “more difficult stunting, tumbling, use of props and lots of crowd-leading involvement” are some of the changes and improvements they’ve incorporated.

Nichols offers valuable advice to aspiring cheerleaders. “Cheerleading is a hard sport but it is worth the effort. You spend a lot of time with each other, so you must be able to work well with others and have a positive attitude.”

With a strong commitment to their teams, community, and each other, the Warner Eagles Cheer Squad is poised to make this season an unforgettable one.
