Warner Eagles Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Cross

GIRLS
Coach: Mindi Peters

21-22 Record: 18-7

The expectations are soaring to a higher flight for the Lady Eagles are skyrocketing with the return of four starters including last season’s leaders in scoring, rebounding and defensive results. Harlie Chesser (5-5, G. Jr.) is a two-year starter and a consistent threat to score from the three-point line averaging 11 points along with three rebounds and steals per game. “With her quick hands, Harlie continually makes big plays that change the momentum of the game,” said head coach Mindi Peters, now in her 15th year at Warner. Jordan Jackson (5-6, G, So.) is another of the pesky guards who last year produced three steals and pass deflections as a freshman while averaging 10 plus points per outing.

Alexis Fowler (5-7, Jr.) returns as the leading scorer after totaling 12 points and five rebounds per game. “She’s a dominant player especially on the offensive end of the court and will get added chances as our shooting guard this year. The size and length of Kambree Ellis (6-0, Fr.) will be a big help to the Lady Eagles with the ability to attack the basket and score as well as defend with her ability to get up and down the court in a hurry. Peters is all smiles while reviewing this year’s roster that will include contributions from Kaylen Park (5-5, Jr.) Peyton Sikes (5-10, Jr.), Jolee Williams (5-2, Jr.), Jaylin Hopson (5-4, So.) Mary Sue Evans (5-8, So.) and the boost of energy from Kami Hamm (5-3, Fr.), Stormi Lynch (5-3, Fr.), Ava Peters (5- 10, Fr.), and Karma Wadley (5- 7, Fr.). “We’re still a young team with no seniors but we have experienced players including guards that can dominate guard play,” said Peters. “I’m confident that we will be a team to watch this year.
