If you needed any proof of the grit and determination of Alexis Fowler, just check the accomplishments for the 5-foot-7 point guard when pushed into the heat of battle as a freshman for the Warner Lady Eagles.

When head coach Mindi Peters called her name, Fowler answered the call averaging 12.3 points per game while distributing 4-plus assists as well as grabbing 5.0 rebounds and using her quickness and determination to create more than two steals per game during her “rookie” campaign.

“She had some big responsibilities that she took head on and learned from last year,” said the Warner coach touting the toughness and work ethic of Fowler, who moves to the shooting guard position this year. “Alexis has worked hard on her shooting and defensive skills during the offseason and I’m expecting her to make a major difference on both ends of the court this year.”

The talented sophomore likes the spirit of this year’s team.

“It’s like family where we’re all working together,” replied Fowler.

The experience gained last season has energized the desire of Fowler, who defines herself as hard working, an overachiever and most importantly, passionate.

“For me, no matter whether it’s basketball or everyday life, if you can’t be passionate about what you’re doing, then there’s no reason to take on the challenge.”

That’s encouraging words of commitment from Alexis Fowler who consistently calls upon her favorite quote for inspiration to overcome and make every day better than the one before.
