Jace Jackson from Warner Public Schools is a senior who excels in football, basketball, baseball and track. His dedication to becoming the best player he can be is evident in his approach to sports. “I set goals before each season and use those goals as motivation for myself.”
When it comes to role models, Jace looks up to his dad and grandpa. “They are always giving advice and working with me, trying to help me reach my goals.”
Reflecting on his educational journey, Jace acknowledges the impact of Mrs. Corie Nichols. “Mrs. Nichols has been one of my biggest supporters since elementary school,” he said. “She’s always cheering me on and one of the first people to give me a hug or a high five after a game.”
Jace’s success in sports didn’t come without hard work. “It’s taken a lot of extra hours. Whether it’s been in football, basketball or baseball, it’s been the time I’ve put in after practice and the people who help me put that time in.”
One of his highlight moments was a significant game experience. “The highlight moment for me was starting in a regionals game, being relieved, and then coming back in to close the game myself to win.”
Regarding rivals, Jace finds joy in competition. “It’s always fun to beat Vian,” he mentioned. “We have always had a little rivalry and we got them twice last year, which was a lot of fun to pull off.”
In practice, Jace values his partnership with Ethan Glover. “He’s my younger cousin, and we’re always pushing each other.”
Acknowledging team efforts, Jace appreciates Austin Spradlin’s contributions. “Austin Spradlin is catching almost every game and is one of the leaders on our team. He’s always one of the people talking up the younger kids and giving his best.”
Representing his school and community means a lot to Jace. “To get to go out and play for the school I’ve been to my whole life means a lot. I get to play with people I’ve grown up with and represent the town I’ve been a part of since I’ve been a little kid.”
Beyond sports, Jace is actively involved in FFA as a class officer, the shooting team and NHS. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy while continuing his baseball career.
