Warner’s Raylee Weidel – Cheer Spotlight – David Kolb State Farm Good Neighbors of the Month

By Scott Metz

Some may think the role of the cheerleader is just a pretty face…but Raylee Weidel proves there’s plenty of talent and athleticism required to be the best cheerleader on the floor.

A junior at Warner High School, Raylee is a highly dedicated cheerleader. She cheers for basketball and football for the Warner Eagles and also does competitive cheer with the school’s team.

With seven years experience, Raylee responded with energy when asked about her favorite part of cheerleading.

“My favorite part about cheerleading is how each individual comes together to perform as a team. When each person is putting in the work to get better; it shows tremendously during competition.”

Raylee has many favorite memories during her time as a cheerleader at Warner. But one particular memory sticks out to Raylee as the most memorable.

“My favorite memory of cheer is going to cheer camp,” Raylee reminisced. “I loved getting to bond with my teammates and learning to grow as a team.”

In terms of the person that has influenced and inspired Raylee the most, she looks to her family for guidance.

“My mom is my biggest inspiration. She has taught me to never give up and to always do my very best at what I am doing.”

Raylee takes academics seriously. In fact, she is currently taking classes at both the high school and collegiate level at the same time.

“My favorite subject in school has always been English. Currently, I am taking concurrent classes at Connors State College. I hope to graduate with my Associates degree shortly after I graduate high school.”

Without question, Raylee has a full plate academically; but she is also involved with other endeavors at school.

“When I am not cheering, I am involved in Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) as well as the Leadership Team at Warner. I also love to spend time with my friends and family.”
