Webbers Falls Warriors Girls Basketball Preview – Presented by Cross

Coach: Jordan Garner

21-22 Record: 19-3

With only one starter returning from last year’s lineup that advanced to the Class B area tournament, the Lady Warriors will look for leadership from its upperclassmen while an energetic young group settles into their roles as Jordan Garner moves over from the boys bench to the girls sideline as head coach to replace Jerry Ward who retired at the end of last year.

“We have a good group of girls that have played quite a bit of basketball and are used to winning,” said Garner. “The offseason has been productive, and I look forward to seeing how this group continues to grow as the season progresses.”

Anistyn Garner (5-3, G, Jr.) who averaged 7.9 points per game as a sophomore is the lone returning starter. “Anistyn makes the most of her opportunities using her quickness and handles to score at all three levels,” replied the head coach. Samantha Griffith (5-5, G, Sr.), who added 3.4 points per contest a year ago is ready to step into the prime time after waiting for her turn to become an impact performer.

“Samantha has waited for her chance by continuing to work hard to sharpen her talents,” said coach Garner who expects to get added production from Teralynn Colston (5-3, G, So.) who demonstrated her abilities to score by averaging 5.4 points plus a pair of rebounds last year as a freshman. “These girls have played a lot of basketball games including trips to the state tournament and know what’s expected to continue our winning ways at Webbers Falls,” said Garner.
