Beggs’ Rylee Youngblood – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Excel Therapy

In the bustling halls of Beggs High School, Rylee Youngblood, a rising star on the basketball court, shares the story of her journey, shaped by mentors, teammates, and a love for the game that knows no bounds.

Reflecting on her basketball trajectory, Rylee identifies Coach Ty Harman as a pivotal figure. “He taught me how to be confident on the floor, no matter the age of my opponent. Coach Harman also taught me that I have to push myself past my limitations to be a better athlete,” she said.

Teammates often become a second family, and for Rylee, Aliviah Daniels embodies resilience and determination. “We’ve played travel ball together for three years and seeing her overcome a torn ACL really showed me that you can overcome any obstacles if you trust God and put your mind to it,” Rylee shares.

In the classroom, Ms. Charity Dillon assumes the role of a guiding force. “Ms. Dillon has always been there for me and supported me through everything,” Rylee said.

As the off-season becomes a crucible of preparation, Rylee details the team’s rigorous regimen. “My team and I have been doing lots of drills, conditioning and spending time in the weight room to prepare for this season.”

Basketball, for Rylee, transcends the court, imparting valuable life lessons. “My sport has taught me to be competitive and try to excel at everything I do,” she said.

Amidst the grind, cherished memories emerge, with Rylee fondly recalling hotel sleepovers with her GOC teammates before tournaments.

Looking ahead to the upcoming season, Rylee articulates her aspirations: “This year I hope to have a winning season and to compete with everyone we step on the floor with.”

Anticipating matchups, Rylee’s excitement peaks at the thought of playing against Preston. “I’m looking forward to playing Preston this season,” she said, eager to face formidable opponents on the court.

As the final buzzer of her high school basketball career approaches, Rylee unveils her plans for the future. “My plans after high school are to potentially play at the next level, but if not, I want to go to school to become a veterinarian,” she shares, encapsulating her aspirations beyond the court.
