Henryetta’s Kasedi Gobin – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Excel Therapy

Team chemistry is an important part of any team’s success. If the players do not get along, they most likely will not work together well on game day. When you have teammates that have played together for a long time, chances are that they will play together like they need to.

Kasedi Gobin plays both softball and basketball for Henryetta High School. As a senior, she has two teammates that have been by her side for most of her career and have played big roles in their teams’ successes.

“There are two people that I have worked hard against in practice,” she said. “I have played softball with both of these girls for 12 years. Our catcher, Katelyn Dwiggins, has never complained about how many games she’s had to catch in one day, how hot it was or how tired she was. No matter the condition she was back there working hard for her team. The second girl is Jalynn Joslin. She is our leadoff slapper and shortstop. You could always count on Jay to get on and get it going. As a second baseman, you need a good shortstop to roll double plays with; good thing I had Jay. I am sad that I will no longer get to play with these girls but I’m glad I had them when I did.”

Gobin is a senior that has her eyes on playing softball at the next level and she has worked and figured out how to make that happen.

“I’ve always wanted to get a full ride to play college softball,” she said. “This made me want to work harder so I could reach my goal. Knowing I wanted to play college softball, I also knew I wanted to go to a smaller college first. I had looked at many different colleges and received a few offers but I have always liked Rose State. I didn’t have an offer from them or even talked to them until one day at Broken Arrow. We were playing in a tournament there, I hit one out and coach Nickie Madden from Rose State was there watching. She had to leave early so she gave her card to a coach and wanted me to call her after. So I gave her a call, went to visit and practice, and now I’m committed there.”
