Girls

Coach: Stephen Castlebury

21-22 Record 15-12

After making it to the area tournament last year and with all starters returning, expectations are running high in Eagle Nation for the ladies. Second year coach Stephen Castlebury has a pair of go-getters that will power the Lady Eagles in Maddie Moore (5-10, Sr.) and Kaleah Barnett (5-9, Sr.). “Maddie is strong and quick and can play just about any position. Kaleah plays the post but is also a very versatile player, is very crafty around the basket and has turned into a really nice player over the last couple of years,” said Castlebury.Another returning player for the Lady Eagles is Emma Duclos (5-6, Jr.) who played a big part in Morris’ success last year.

“Emma had to grow up quickly because Maddie and Kaleah were hurt off and on last year and Emma had to fill in for them and that experience has made her a lot better player. She shoots the ball really well and feeds off Maddie and Kaleah,” said the head coach. Morris also got some extra help with the addition of Beggs move-in Skylar Phillips (5-2, So.) who will handle the point guard duties. “She handles the ball well and is a pretty good shooter and will fit in well with this crew,” said Castlebury. Jessica Wilson (5-6, Sr.) is also back to take care of the dirty work and provide more leadership. Two freshmen that Castlebury is on high on are Reagan Bowling (6-1) and Taylon Ray (5-6). “Reagan will need to get a little tougher inside as she adapts to high school ball but she has a great upside and Taylon may be our best shooter. She sees the floor well and has a good skill set.” Depth will be a another plus for the Eagles with players like sophomores Jenna Wade, Alli Guynes, Lillian Giddens, Fire Clark, Abby Long, Rylee Whitaker and Alexis Schell ready to step in when needed.
