Riverhawk Spotlight: Pryor’s Tylor Arnold – Presented by Northeastern State University

TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More

Athletes, including current NSU RiverHawks basketball player Tylor Arnold understand the importance of the TEAM first concept and competing with an “all for one” commitment is more than just a coaching philosophy.

“Whether you’re playing sports, including college basketball or you’re getting up and going to work everyday, the value of teamwork is second to none,” explained the 2017 graduate from Pryor High School. “Playing as a team often involves change and for me that starts with my willingness to do whatever it takes to help my teammates be successful. It’s not what I can do for me but rather what can I do to help others become better every day, both on and off the court.” After earning his undergraduate degree majoring in Accounting while playing basketball three years at East Central University, “T. A” continued to accept change when choosing to follow his college coach Ja Havens to Northeastern State University.

“The toughest thing about coming to a new school is about establishing new relationships,” said Arnold, who in addition to playing basketball continues to post impressive academic statistics including a 4.0 GPA while in pursuit of a Masters of Business Administration degree at NSU with a game plan to become a certified public accountant by managing a timeline that empowers Arnold to not only practice and play game but also to find time to study and complete his homework. “At NSU, establishing relationships has been an awesome experience including my teammates as well as my professors who go out of their way to get every student whatever you need to succeed. Just like when we play basketball, the college experience at NSU offers every student the opportunity to win.”

When athletes are considering a college choice, they’re looking for a place that matches their style of play. And, for Tylor Arnold, he found his best match, on and off the court wearing the RiverHawks uniform. “I’m so happy to be at NSU, it just feels like home. The school spirit and support is shared between everyone including the other teams as well as the fraternities, sororities and the other groups and clubs,” confirmed Arnold. “If you’re looking to find a family like spirit, you’re going to enjoy being part of the family at NSU. There’s something for everyone and you’ll love it.”
