These are the top seven players in the Tahlequah Area hub selected by position as chosen by VYPE editors.

QB: Tyler Joice – 5-11, 198, Sr. – Tahlequah: With 63 percent accuracy, the Tigers signal caller completed 14 touchdown passes for 1,373 yards last season. 

RB: Malik McMurtrey – 5-11, 184, Sr. – Tahlequah: While playing in only seven games, the Tigers workhorse ran for seven touchdowns totaling 793 yards and will be the go-to-guy in the Tigers ground attack.

WR: Parker Lane – 5-11, 182, Sr. – Tahlequah: The sure-handed wide receiver will be key in Tahlequah’s air attack hoping to build upon his results from last season as Lane averaged 15-plus yards per catch.

OL: Parker Sinclair – 6-3, 285, Sr. – Keys: Big and strong are just two reasons why the Cougars lineman dominates play in the trenches where he commonly produces pancake blocks on opponents.

LB: Elijah McWilliams – 6-2, 216, Sr. – Tahlequah: Committed to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, McWilliams will lead the Tigers 9-5-9 defensive efforts this fall after recording 75 tackles last season including four stops for loss.

DL: Jeremiah Clinton – 6-4, 255, Sr. – Keys: The Cougars defensive end comes full-speed off the snap to disrupt opponents offense using his size and mobility to his advantage.

DB: Eli Hammer – 6-1, 185, Jr. – Sequoyah Tahlequah: A two-way performer that will include playing quarterback on offense, the Indians’ leader combines athleticism and on the field football IQ to make defensive highlight reel results.

Based on fans votes in online polls, these are the top seven players in the Tahlequah Area hub selected by position.

QB: Walker Eaton – 6-1, 168, Sr. – Hulbert: With confidence in his abilities, the newcomer to the Riders offense is expected to provide the talents to engineer the spread formation for Hulbert this fall.

RB: Colby Nottingham – 5-10, 185, Sr. – Keys: The Cougars will give the ball to Nottingham to empower the ground game up the middle and on the edge.

WR: Hayden Faddis – Jr. – Westville: Part of the buzz of the Yellowjackets offensive attack, Faddis is expected to make big plays in the passing game.

OL: Bryar Thurber – 6-0, 235, Sr – Stilwell: A multi-sport athlete, Thurber enters his fourth year as a starter up front for the Indians and will be the anchor in the trenches.  

LB: Levi Troyer – 6-1, 195, Sr. – Keys: The confidence of Troyer allows the Cougars outside linebacker the ability to read and react to defend the pass as well crash down to stop opposing ball carriers. 

DL: Lane Gordon – 6-4, 218, Sr. – Hulbert: The non-stop motor of the Riders defensive end returns to bring a strike-force effort to the Hulbert defensive game plan. 

DB: Lane Taylor – 6-0, 175, Sr. – Keys: The team leader for the Cougars, Taylor’s athleticism empowers his efforts in pass coverage as well as run support while going  two-ways at quarterback this fall.
