Three Rivers Baseball Players To Watch -Presented By Neighbors Building Neighborhoods

With many of the area teams among the contenders to make the state tournament in their respective classes, these talented players are constantly making game changing plays to lead their teams to victories.

Jaden Maxwell – Dewar

A leader in the dugout as well as off the field, Jaden consistently makes the key play at first base and typically comes through in the clutch at the plate with timely base hits to drive in runs. A hard worker for the Dragons in additon to keeping an almost full time job.

Luke Adcock – Eufaula

Luke is a Seminole State commit and a three-year starter for Eufaula. He is the team’s top pitcher and the best hitter. Luke plays shortstop but will be a corner guy in college.

Weston Rouse – Fort Gibson

Weston will be a four-year starter for the Tigers and he will attend Oklahoma State University next fall if he is not drafted. He only gave up seven hits and was undefeated in the regular season last year. He leads by example and really helps the younger players.

Ben Kirkpatrick – Gore

Ben is a four-year starter for the Pirates. He leads with experience and does what it takes to win day in and day out. Ben has a great bat at the plate and matches his offensive skills with his play-making ability on defense.

Brannon Westmoreland – Haskell

Westmoreland was the team’s top pitcher from last year with a 10-0 record, 114 strikeouts, 0.64 ERA, and led the team in batting average at .458.

Mason Pickering – Hilldale

Mason is a very talented young man that will be a very big part of the team’s success. He led the team in hitting last year and is expected to have another big year. He will also anchor the defense at catcher and hit in the middle of the order.

Ethan Reese – Hulbert

A five-tool player who is versatile and the undisputed leader of the team. He plays centerfield and shortstop, and is one of the Riders’ top pitchers with lots of velocity. He was also an All-District quarterback selection in football and is a 4.0 student

Reed Trimble – Keys

Reed is a top-line arm and has proven to be able to pitch at a high level in the biggest games that Keys has played in. He hits in the middle of the lineup and is a hitter that gets on base, drives in runs, and plays with a high baseball IQ. When he’s not pitching he solidifies the defense in the middle at shortstop.

Ben Bond – McCurtain

The junior workhorse is the Bulldogs’ leader in the dugout and off the field at McCurtain. The crafty righthander is the ace of the staff as well as taking his innings playing third base. He puts in the extra time and work to become “the guy” his teammates rely upon. Every coach wants a player like Ben.

Reid Sutton – Muldrow

A true student of the game, Reid eats, drinks and sleeps baseball. The junior centerfielder powers the Bulldogs offense with a .429 average and consistently makes the “big plays” defensively with his strong arm. Also gets the job done when working from the mound.

Aiden Barnoski – Muskogee

Aiden is a junior and is an extremely hard worker who absolutely loves baseball. He is a great kid that is very coachable. He will be the starting shortstop this year and hit at the top third of the line-up. He will also be a big part of the Roughers’ pitching rotation.

Landon Lee – Okemah

Landon understands the game. On the mound, he has a strong arm and can also play any position on the dirt and make the tough plays. At the plate has a great eye to get and hit his pitch. He’s the leader in the dugout that the other guys love to follow.

Daylan Callaway – Okmulgee

Daylan is a two-year starter on the infield. He looks to be one of the district pitchers that will give his team a chance any time he is on the mound.

Tyler Allen & Hunter Dearman – Oktaha

Tyler and Hunter have been four-year starters and have hit in the middle of the order for all four years. Both have played significant roles on the mound while solidifying the left side of the infield at shortstop and third base. Hunter has signed to play at Seminole State College. Tyler was offered by Seminole as well.

Brex Caldwell – Panama

With championship experience in his resume before transferring from Red Oak to Panama, the crafty pitcher has plenty of velocity and control of his pitches as well as providing key base hits swinging the bat.  Brex is committed to play at Oklahoma State University.

AJ Lyons Jerrell – Pocola

He led the team in all offensive categories last year as a freshmen. AJ hits with great power and uses his speed to turn routine base hits into an extra base as well as covering the gaps to make defensive gems in the outfield.

Mason Plunk – Porter

A four-year starter at shortstop, Plunk excels in basketball as well as baseball. Team leader in average, doubles, and stolen bases. Valuable contributor on the mound as well. Level-headed competitor who any coach would love to have on his team.

Wesley Garrett & Coby Bell – Poteau

Two of the key performers on the mound for the Pirates in their chase to return to the state tournament. Garrett, a lefthanded senior and Bell, a junior righthander with upper 80s velocity, continue to keep opposing batters off balance with a command of their pitches.

Luke Hankins – Preston

A fierce competitor for the Pirates, the sophomore pitcher and shortstop gets the job done by doing everything right defensively. A true pure hitter with the bat in his hand, Luke is a true student of the game.

Carson Wiggins – Roland

The Arkansas Razorback commit as a junior is ranked as the top righthander in the state by PBR Oklahoma and number-43 in the country. Wiggins has plenty of heat reaching 94mph with his fastball while his slider buckles opponents’ knees. His strong arm and baseball IQ make him the Rangers leader on the field.

Gannon Shackleford – Spiro

Gannon was the team MVP last year as a junior. He does a lot as a pitcher, hitter, and infielder. Where he is at his best is whenever he is catching. He is a great young man that has dedicated himself to his craft and his team. He has been a starter since he was a freshman and has been a major piece of this team for the past four years.

Will Rose – Stigler

Will is a great leader with really good skills. He has played in a lot of baseball games and is an extreme competitor who gives it his all every day. He is a fantastic baserunner and an improved hitter. Will looks to have a great senior season.

Dalton Christie – Stilwell

Dalton is a player that will give you everything he has. He lead the Indians in average, RBIs, and home runs last year. He plays shortstop, is in the starting rotation pitching-wise, and is someone everyone looks up to.

Brayden Northington – Tahlequah

Team leader – fierce competitor – a bulldog when he’s on the hill. The accolades given to Brayden only begin to define his impact to the Tigers this spring. His command of his pitches keeps Tahlequah in the game every time he takes the mound.

Diego Ramos – Vian

Diego is a very talented player. He will start at shortstop, bat in the three-hole, and be the Wolverines’ top pitcher where he commands a variety of pitches. Diego has already signed to play at Arkansas next year.

Wyatt Hamilton – Warner

Wyatt has been a strong competitor on the mound for the last three seasons. He has been working hard this offseason. Coaches are expecting him to have a big senior season and lead the way for the team.
