Warner’s Jordan Jackson Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Honda of Muskogee

Jordan Jackson is a junior at Warner High School where she is a member of the Eagles’ track team. Her mother and father both ran track when they were in school. Her mother was a state champion, and her father ran the 400-meter relay. She says that she has no doubt where her love for track comes from.

“It just kind of comes from my parents,” Jackson said. “I’m very competitive, whether it’s doing drills or running on the track, I don’t want to get beat”.

As a freshman and sophomore, Jackson qualified for the two-mile run, one-mile run, 800-meter relay, and the open quarter. In both years she was the state runner-up in the 400 relay. While she enjoys all of those events, she says that her favorite is the two-mile run.

While she enjoys the success she has had on the track, she is looking to achieve even more than she already has.

“Even though being state runner-up is great, I would love to pass that wall and eventually be able to win the two-mile.”

Jackson said her family, friends, and community have all had a major impact on her as a student as well as an athlete. One person in particular is a teammate and close friend, Harlie Chessner who is someone that Jackson really enjoys working with.

“Working with Harlie is always beneficial,” she said. “We both feed off of each other and make each other better. Plus we always have fun.”

When she’s not running on the track, she is also a two-year starting point guard for the Lady Eagle’s basketball team, which she said is her favorite sport. Other sports she is in include cross country and cheering. She has a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

She said one of her goals is to be valedictorian of her 2025 class.

Away from sports, she is also a member of the school’s leadership team, which does service around her community, raises money for the community, and helps bring her community closer. “It’s just great to be able to change lives in our community.”
